About North Essex Squash Academy
Founded in 2006 by Level 4 Elite Coach Chris Vine, the University of Essex Sports Centre is home
to the North Essex Squash Academy. The Academy provides a platform and pathway for the development
of aspiring young squash players, from school children right through to elite and international level.
NESA students have the opportunity, through the Academy, to train with full-time squash professionals
and receive expert coaching.
NESA Aims
To provide a player pathway for local North Essex junior players from Mini squash through to club,
county, regional and national eligibility.
To provide a platform for coach and cross-club co-operation in relation to the progression of junior
squash players in the North Essex and South Suffolk area.
To link in and liaise with existing EJSRA and ES & Racketball coaching structures, programmes and competitions.
To provide localised competitive structures and events that are developmental and progressive by
nature in order to test and benchmark player development.
